Islamabad High Court (IHC) while hearing petitions against Shisha Cafés has directed district administration to frame rules within a month.
Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Sardar Sarfraz Dogar has remarked we have respect for your business. But don’t destroy the entire city lest your brother or member of your family should become victim to it tomorrow.
CJ IHC remarked during the hearing if charas is mixed with tobacco , it will be called smoking.
He said this all is happening while sitting in open places. We are taking our generations to annihilation.
The court remarked neither any rule has been formed nor are there any regulations. Such like arrangement is ruining the life of people of Islamabad.
IG Islamabad and Deputy Commissioner (DC) appeared in the court in person. Advocate General Navid Hayat Malik and Acting prosecutor general Manzoor Jajja too appeared.
IG told the court stern action was taken against Shisha cafes after court’s orders. FIR was registered against some people. We had to face resistance from shisha cafes owners. Boys and girls with ages ranging between 14 to 15 years were found therein. Awareness campaign has been started. Acting prosecutor general said children below 18 years are included in sellers.
