Daily wagers and taxi drivers staged a protest rally against the closure of Torkham border for pedastrian movement that suffered hundreds of laborers working across the border.
The protesters also established a sit-in camp in Landikotal bazaar and hoisted black flags around the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Israr Shinwari and laborers union president Farman Shinwari said that border closure for pedastrian movement not only stopped passengers coming to Pakistan but it also daily wagers working at Torkham border town.
They said that Torkham gate remained open for trucks but individuals were banned to cross the border a month ago.
They said government should allow laborers to work adopting Corona SOP so that they could earn livelihood.
The protesters threatened to block the Torkham-Landikotal highway if ban on pedastrian movement was not removed.
Trader office looted: thieve stolen cash from the office of Honey Enterprizes and Hayatullah custom agency in Torkham border. Police in their initial report said that thieves had broken the locks of the office and take away cash from the safe of the office,however, they did not gave the exact figure of the stolen amount. First Information Report has been lodged and police started investigation to arrest the culprits.
