Darul Uloom Haqqani delegation calls on Barrister Saif in Peshawar

Barrister Dr. Saif, Advisor on Information to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was called on in Peshawar by a delegation comprising Maulana Rashidul Haq Haqqani, Naib Muhtamim of Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak; Maulana Yousaf Shah, Central General Secretary of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S); and Mufti Zafar Zaman, Coordinator of the Muttahida Ulema Board.
The meeting focused on issues including religious harmony, challenges faced by madrassas, the role of religious scholars in national unity, and developments in the investigation of the murder case of Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani.
During the discussion, Barrister Dr. Saif emphasized that religious harmony is a pressing need of the hour and that the provincial government is taking serious steps to promote unity among various schools of thought. He acknowledged the pivotal role that religious scholars have historically played in fostering social stability and interfaith tolerance, stressing that their guidance is even more essential in today’s environment.
Dr. Saif reassured the attendees that relevant agencies are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani’s murder, and the government is committed to ensuring that justice is served.
Challenges faced by Darul Uloom Haqqania were also discussed in detail. Dr. Saif assured that the provincial government is taking practical and effective measures to resolve the issues faced by such religious and educational institutions so they can continue fulfilling their educational and religious responsibilities without hindrance.
He further stated that religious scholars are a source of intellectual and moral guidance for society, and the creation of a peaceful, stable, and unified society is not possible without their involvement.
