Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Vice Chancellor Women University Swabi, the Department of Journalism, in collaboration with Individualland, organized a two-day training workshop on “Fake News, Misinformation, Disinformation, and the Use of AI in Identifying Fake News.”
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Waseem Khattak, Head of the Department of Journalism and Deputy Director Public Relations, who has vast experience in the field of journalism. He trained selected students from various departments on detecting and countering fake news using modern journalistic techniques and AI tools.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen emphasized the importance of media literacy, stating that “in today’s era, fake news and misinformation have become common, and such workshops play a vital role in creating awareness among youth.”
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Department of Journalism and Individualland for organizing an informative and practical training session, and encouraged that similar initiatives should continue in the future.
