The Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with THE NATIVES, successfully launched the 4-day Digital Media Boot camp today, 19 August 2026, at Rashid Shaheed Memorial Hall, University of Peshawar bringing together 35 young participants from the NMDs. The event aims to equip young participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Atifa Yousafzai, Assistant Director Youth Affairs KP, and Mr. Shabeer Khan. Both highlighted the importance of equipping youth with modern digital skills and encouraged participants to make the most of this valuable learning opportunity.
DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
Dr. Bakht Zaman, Professor of Journalism, shared valuable insights on the overall vision of the bootcamp, encouraging youth to become responsible digital creators and use media as a tool for communication, creativity, entrepreneurship, and positive storytelling.
Dr. Muhammad Faheem, Journalist & HOD Media Studies, Iqra National University, delivered an engaging session on Vlogging, focusing on storytelling, creativity, authenticity, and building an audience through digital platforms.
Ms. Sibgha also engaged participants through practical discussions and activities.
The day included interactive sessions, group work, brainstorming, and practical activities, creating an energetic and inspiring learning environment. Participants appreciated the initiative, describing the sessions as informative, practical, and highly relevant to their future careers in digital media.
