Director food inspects flour distributions to dealers

Provincial food director Rehan Gul Khattak on Tuesday visited flour mills, flour dealers and grain warehouses in different areas of Mardan and checked the record of wheat distributed to mills and flour released to dealers under the government’s quota.
While talking to the media, he directed the flour mill owners to ensure the supply of flour to the dealers at official rates.
The food team visited flour dealers at Chato Chowk, Shamsi Road and Khwaja Ganj bazaar and sent samples of flour to the laboratory for quality checking.
District food controller Aftab Umar, deputy director Mardan division Amjad Umar and assistant food controller Ishfaq were also present on the occasion.
Rehan Khattak also checked the record of wheat supplied to the flour mills and also flour released under the government quota to the dealers.
The food director issued instructions to the mill management and the designated flour dealers to ensure timely supply of flour at fixed rates so that more people can benefit from the special package of the provincial government. He urged them to properly maintain the record.
He said that strict action would be initiated among those elements who were found involved in artificial price hike and flour shortage.
