PESHAWAR
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Housing, Dr. Amjad Ali, on Tuesday inaugurated Mega City Nowshera Phase-I.
Speaking to the media at the inauguration ceremony held at the Civil Secretariat Peshawar, Dr. Amjad Ali lauded the Housing Department and the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) for achieving significant progress in a short span of time, particularly through the formulation of Joint Venture (JV) regulations and their practical implementation.
The event was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, MPA Ali Shah, Secretary Housing, Director General PHA, representatives from Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED), National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), and other concerned officials. On the occasion, Dr. Amjad Ali was briefed on the revised master plan of the project, including details of Phase-I, which covers 2,000 kanals of land and includes 3,000 residential plots. He appreciated the efforts and termed the project commendable, particularly the timely measures incorporated to protect the housing schemes from floods.
He also welcomed SEED’s investment partnership with the PHA, noting that such collaborations would accelerate sustainable housing initiatives in the province.
Highlighting the government’s vision, Dr. Amjad Ali said that under the JV regulations, multiple housing schemes are being developed to provide better residential facilities for low- and middle-income groups.
He added that these projects would not only help address the challenges of rapid urban population growth but also contribute significantly to rural development and enhance economic activity in the region.
