New members of the Dispute Resolution Counils (DRCs) were sworn in during an oath-taking ceremony held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
According to a statement issued here on Thursday, the newly elected chairman and members pledged to actively engage in resolving community disputes.
Addressing the ceremony, the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed praised the encouraging performance of DRCs in Peshawar, noting that 11,977 disputes have been amicably resolved through mutual consent so far. He emphasized that the growing public trust and increasing reliance on DRCs highlight their vital role in delivering accessible and dignified justice.
The CCPO highlighted that DRCs have provided oppressed individuals with affordable and timely justice at their doorsteps, marking a significant achievement. He expressed confidence that the new members would uphold justice and meet the public’s expectations.
The ceremony was attended by SSP Operations Masood Ahmed, Divisional SPs, and both former and newly appointed DRC members.
