Ex-MPA Chaudhry Adnan shot dead in Rawalpindi


“Unidentified persons shot him dead,” say police; Adnan contested from NA-57 as independent candidate
Former lawmaker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chaudhry Adnan has been gunned down in Rawalpindi, police said on Monday.
The ex-member of Punjab Assembly was tragically killed in Rawalpindi on Monday. The unidentified attackers targeted Adnan near the city’s police lines while his car was stopped at a traffic signal.
The former lawmaker was rushed to local medical hospital in the garrison city, but he succumbed to gun wounds.
CCTV footage reveals that Adnan’s vehicle was stopped forcefully near police lines traffic signal.
Cops started probe into killing to apprehend the attackers as the incident triggered widespread condemnation.
Ch. Adnan took part in polls as an independent candidate for NA-57 Rawalpindi and PP-19. In NA-57 constituency, he bagged 1820 votes.
He served as MPA from 2018 to 2023 under PTI ticket. He recently contested February 8th elections as an independent candidate in both NA-57 Rawalpindi and PP-19 constituencies.
