Faiq demands ‘unconstitutional’ move to be declared null and void

Condemning the violation of democracy, law and constitution during the election for Punjab Chief Minister slot, the Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah appealed the law and justice institutions to declare the yesterday’s proceeding and decisions of Punjab Assembly as ‘null’ and ‘void’ and to pave way for holding early election in country.
Faiq Shah while terming the election of Punjab Chief Minister slot as fight of freestyle wrestling “Pahalwanoo ka Dangal”, saying that Gymnasium [dangal] was held last night in Punjab Assembly, which won by powerful wrestlers.
According to a statement issued here on Saturday, the ATP chairman lamented it is a tragedy that law, constitutional and moral values had been humiliated.
He added the claimants or champions of democracy openly carrying, buying and selling but no one takes notice of this worst kind of ‘horse-trading’.
This is a game of rulers and powerful elites, which has no relevance with democracy that has
been played for the last 75 years in the country, Shah noted.
He continued to say an attempt had been made to further push the country toward turbulence.
The ATP chairman urged the law and justice institutions to declare it as null and void to pave the way for holding snap elections in the country.
“We firmly belief on ‘democratic’ and ‘constitutional’ doctrines, and neither favour anyone nor opponent,”
Shah called yesterday’s act an insult of mandate, which would create anarchy.
The party chief said the country has been brought on the brink of bankruptcy owing to a crippling national economy and ongoing political uncertainty.
Despite the fact that the politicians weren’t concerned with it, and reluctant to accept the public verdict, he added.
He warned the current scenario is the replay of the economic crisis-hit Sri Lanka, which is highly regrettable.
Faiq remarked parliament and legislative assemblies have become dislocated, saying that this dangal “Wrestling” should be halted forthwith.
The politics of ‘Lotta’ [Switching of Loyalties] isn’t called democracy but is a violation of the constitution, he added.
“we stand with people and will continue raise voice for their legitimate rights, public authority and justice at every forum, instead of working of for any political party”,
The ATP chief observed the country has sunk in storms while politicians set a field for fighting wrestling [Khuhsti], saying it is clearly a violation of the constitution. He added it is a huge dilemma and question-mark for justice.
He vowed his party strongly condemned the violation of law, constitution and moralities.
