Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah expressed grave concern over rising inflation, saying that the incumbent coalition government has snatched people’s right to live.
Faiq observed prices have touched a new peak, saying the spiraling inflation has made the life of common man miserable.
On the other hand, he added the government has continuously increasing power and gas tariffs, making it difficult for inflation-stricken people to pay their utility bills.
He said the frequent increase in prices of electricity and gas is highly condemnable.
He said the irony is that despite paying utility bills with heavy tariffs, electricity and gas were unavailable to consumers.
He said people have faced hour-long electricity and gas outages.
Apart from disturbing routine life, he said economic, trade and commercial activities have also adversely affected owing to the prolonged electricity loadshedding.
The party leader said usurping the rights of the smaller federating units is intolerable.
He said they will foil attempts to abuse constitutional and basic rights of the unprivileged and marginalized segment of the society.
During a meeting with different delegations here on Tuesday, the ATP chief said the country has been plagued with countless challenges and issues.
He asked for unified efforts to steer the country out from prevailing crisis situations.
Shah said the incumbent coalition government not only violated the constitution and law in 15 months but also deprived the poor of their livelihood.
He reminded his party was carrying out a vigorous political and awareness campaign.
He vowed to ensure public authority and power and all basic rights to people at their doorstep.
Faiq asked people to support new political parties and manifesto, if they want real change and democracy in the country.
He furthermore asked competent, intellectuals and young people to come forward to play their due role to get rid the nation from present rulers and bring political and economic stability in the country.
