PESHAWAR, February11: Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has severely condemned the use of force, firing teargas shells and violence against the peaceful protesting government employees, demanding to increase salaries and allowances of the government employees as per increasing ratio of inflation in country.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Faiq Shah said that the employees and workers of government departments are the wheels of the administration, saying that the whole system of life would be completely jammed, if they can stop working. He emphasized that the government should take measures for jobs protection.

Backing the government’s employee’s protest across the country, the ATP chief said that the public servants are agitating in the result of historic and ‘sky-rocketing’ price-hike, but the government is least bothered to pay attention to genuine demands of the protesting employees.

He said use of teargas shells, rubber bullets, manhandling and violence against the peaceful protesting employees of the government departments is highly deplorable.

Faiq Shah reminded that Prime Minister Imran Khan had made several commitments during PTI months-long ‘sit-in’ on D-Chowk Islamabad, adding that his party led government has adopted a strict and callous attitude with protesting government employees.

No action was taken against profiteers and hoarders, which have amassed money illegally, despite they are openly defying rules, the ATP chief noticed.

Mr Shah observed that the people belonging from every segment of the society, including teachers, lawyers, and employees have severely perturbed owing to sky-high prices of essential food commodities and relentless increase with each passing day.

He said the government’s inability to devise a holistic plan and strategy to overcome with increasing price-hike in the country. He vowed that his party standby government employees and poverty-hit people, demanding to immediately resolve the public servants problems by meeting their genuine demands.
