Faiq Shah urges OIC, Muslim world to take unanimous stance against publication of blasphemous caricatures

PESHAWAR : Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party Muhammad Faiq Shah has urged the Muslims countries and OIC to take unanimous stance over the publication of blasphemous caricatures and patronizing such move by the French government.

Faiq Shah during a meeting held here at the party’s central office on Saturday strongly reacted over the Muslims countries and OIC conspicuous silence against the publication of profane cartoons and backing such attempt by French government, which was hurt religious sentiments of the Muslim across the world.

The party leader maintained that it wasn’t freedom of expression to play with religious feelings but its call bias, hatred and irresponsibility. He reminded the France being signatory of EU convention on human rights, which has committed serious crime by violating the relevant covenant and supporting sacrilegious move, hurt religious sentiments of Muslims and disobeyed the concerned international laws, describing it as a dual standard.

We strongly denounce the publication of blasphemous caricatures, the ATP Chief said, asking the OIC and rest of the Muslim world to raise joint voice against this sacrilegious act. He stressed the need of interfaith harmony and adherence with international laws as a paramount to respect all religions of the world and abstain from hurting religious sentiments at every level.

Faiq Shah asked the Muslim world to lodge strong protest against France at UN, EU and OIC forum. He also called upon the government to review diplomatic policies and make struggle while keeping in view the ground realities. He emphasized that the ethical and legal values should not be violated for sake of only gaining economic interests.
