Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah threw heavy weight behind the initiation of efforts to break the political impasse. He, however, emphasized that dialogue should reach its logical conclusion.
“We believes to address all issues by table talks between all political parties and stakeholders”,
Faiq said ATP has already proposed a holistic reforms agenda to end the current uncertain situation in the country.
He asked that both the government and the opposition should find a middle-ground.
Shah made these remarks during a meeting of the party’s central executive committee here on Monday.
He urged the “Political parties should come forward for a dialogue to end the current political crisis in the country,” The party leader stressed it is essential to address all issues under the constitutional framework.
He warned that the ongoing situation had created a “poisonous polarisation among the masses”. It seems the ice has started melting as both parties are forming panels to engage in indirect dialogue, the ATP chief observed.
He commended the constitution of three member panel by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) to hold dialogue with Jamaat e Islami (JI) on the ongoing political crisis in the country is highly laudable.
The party leader went on to say that elections were the way forward to pull the country out of prevailing economic, political, and constitutional crises.
He stressed it is paramount important that parliament, judiciary and administration should give priority to provision of justice and equality.
Quick dispensation of justice and public authority are the key issues so all institutions should frame a joint framework to ensure these issues, Shah stressed.
Commenting on the current political scenario, Faiq remarked that Pakistan is currently passing through a critical phase of its history.
He said simmering political tensions in the country that has lasted for more than a year has brought destruction in all sectors.
