A woman doctor from tehsil Landi Kotal appealed to grant custody of her two children, guaranteed by the Court verdict.
Speaking at a press conference at Jamrud Press Club on Wednesday, Dr. Naheed, accompanied by her father Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, accused her former husband, Lieutenant Colonel Abid ur Rehman, of defying court orders and denying her access to their two children.
Dr. Naheed said that she had married around 15 years ago to Lieutenant Colonel Abid ur Rehman, and had two children, aged 11 and 9.
Dr Naheed further stated that her husband’s behavior changed after the incident, and she was subjected to mental distress and eventually separated from her children and even she was not allowed to meet them.
A few years back, she suffered a serious spinal injury in an accident, which left her wheelchair-bound, she said.
She further claimed that false allegations were leveled against her, after which she approached higher authorities and was advised to seek legal recourse.
Despite the clear court order of granting her the children custody, she said the decision had not been implemented.
Alleging her ex-husband of contempt of court, Dr. Naheed appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, as well as provincial and military leadership, to ensure justice by immediately enforce the court’s orders.
