The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone issued its annual report of the ‘breakdown against illegal business of Hawala Hundi/ currency smuggling’ during the last two months. As per the press briefing issued by Mujahid Akbar Khan, Director FIA KP-Zone, around 56 raids have been conducted and 68 accused.
A total of 164 challan submitted by the FIA in courts for initiating trial of accused and recovered Rs119.8033 millions during various raids carried out by the FIA-KP zone.
The press briefing stated that the FIA during the last two months have finalized around 127 enquiries against the criminals. FIA KP-Zone claimed to have the best performance of FIA by any circle in all Pakistan.
Similarly, Mujahid Akbar Khan shared that on the directives of Director General (DG) FIA a comprehensive crackdown was waged against illegal business of Hawala Hundi and other modes of currency smuggling.
He said that conducted record raids and recovered Rs119.8033, adding that the Peshawar office led the operations against currency smuggling.
Mr Mujahid also lauded the performance of FIA KP zone against the currency smuggling and hoped that in next few months raids against currency smugglers would be intensified.
