Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has awarded sentence of 4 months in jail each to 4 more accused in PTI November 24 violent protest case on pleading guilty. All the four convicts were nominated in police station Injra Attock case.
This way the number of convicted persons has reached 113. All the four accused including Aamir Khan, Sardar Khan, Khan Muhammad and Javed Iqbal Khan were present in the court along with their counsel. Special prosecutor also appeared in the court. All the four accused pleaded guilty before the court.
While accepting the charges leveled against them they said they joined violent protest on provocation by PTI leadership.
The accused said in confessional statement filed in the court neither they were aware of imposition of section 144 nor had they any estimation what nature of protest it was. They participated in the protest on being provoked by leadership. It was said in the statement they repent over what they have done and they assure they will not become part of any protest in future.
The accused were of view as they are laborers by profession and they are breadwinners of their families. Therefore, the court should show mercy to them and leniency in punishment.
Case against them was registered in police station Injra district Attock under clauses of siege and arson and interference in the affairs of the government during November 24, 2024 protest.
