Rare artifacts related to the Gandhara civilization and captivating statues of Buddha have recently been discovered in the historic Tokar Dara area of Swat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a handout said.
On this significant discovery, the Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, and Museums, Zahid Chanzeb, expressed deep satisfaction, adding that this discovery not only highlights our rich cultural heritage but will also help promote Swat as an international center of tourism and research.
The provincial government was committed to taking every possible step for the preservation, promotion, and development of this historic heritage, he said and praised the performance of the Department of Archaeology.
The CM aide stated that this discovery will attract academic circles and global tourists to Swat, thereby boosting the local economy and raising awareness about the region’s cultural and religious tourism potential. Zahid Chanzeb reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the discovery and preservation of KP’s historical heritage. The Advisor stated that such valuable artifacts not only reflect the glory of our past but also serve as a source of knowledge and pride for future generations. He invited international archaeologists to visit Swat and other sites for research and help promote the cultural significance of this region globally.
