PESHAWAR
Acting Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani said on Tuesday that the provincial government is making earnest efforts to promote peace through sports activities in the province.
He said this during the “International Peace and Sports Conference” award distribution ceremony.
In the conference, the Acting Governor Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani distributed awards to sports journalists of the province.
Awards were distributed among the participants who have shown outstanding performance in international and national level sports competitions and the representatives of different countries participating in the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said “sport activities promote peace in the society and encourage development in the country”.
He congratulated the organizers for organizing the World Conference on Sports and Peace.
Ghani maintained that the conference will be very helpful for the promotion of sports activities in the province.
The conference which was organized in KP would send a positive message to the world.
He said that the KP government has taken valuable steps to promote sports related activities for national and international players.
Sports Writers Association KP and Secretary General of Asian Sports Journalists Amjad Aziz Malik, more than 11 delegates from nine countries, sports journalists from Hungary, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan participated in the conference.
Amjad Aziz Malik on the occasion presented a commemorative shield to the Acting Governor Mushtaw Ghani.
Cultural music enthralls sports, peace conference delegates in Peshawar
The provincial culture and tourism authority hosted a cultural musical program for delegates of the International Peace and Sports Conference in Peshawar on Tuesday.
Some 11 delegates from Korea, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Europe, Afghanistan and other countries are visiting for the conference titled “International Peace and Sports Conference”.
The four-day conference was jointly organized by Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Directorate General Sports, Bank of Khyber, AIPS Asia and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Writers Association in Peshawar.
On this occasion, the KP culture and tourism authority presented the provincial culture and a music show for the foreign delegates.
Director general Bakhtiar Khan while speaking on the occasion maintained the authority was working tirelessly to implement new projects for the promotion of tourism in the province including settlement of new tourist spots for providing facilities to tourists.
He said that integrated tourism zones, camping pods, tourism police, tourist rest areas, tourist resort, Jeepable tracks and many other measures are included in various projects.
