IED blast in Upper Swat

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion occurred in Shakardara village of Matta, Upper Swat on Monday however, fortunately no loss of life or property has been reported.
According to local police on Monday, unidentified miscreants carried out the IED blast in Shakardara area of Matta during the morning hours. Despite the nature of the explosion, no casualties were reported.
Police stated that security forces reached the scene immediately after receiving information about the blast. The area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched.
Police confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the nature of the explosion and identify those responsible. Security agencies have collected evidence and expanded the scope of the investigation to ensure the swift arrest of the perpetrators.
Police have also urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities promptly, so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
It is worth noting that on November 12, a similar bomb attack targeted the vehicle of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mumtaz Ali Khan.
He remained unharmed, but his vehicle was completely destroyed.
Sources suggest that the current incident may be linked to the previous attack. However, officials stated that a final conclusion will only be drawn after the completion of the investigation.
