The monthly Regional Conference of the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General, NHMP, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry. Additional Inspectors General, Deputy Inspectors General, and Senior Superintendents of Police from all regions and zones across the country participated in the meeting online.
During the meeting, the overall performance of all zones was reviewed in detail. Various measures aimed at improving traffic management, ensuring safe and comfortable travel, and addressing other important operational matters were also discussed. Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry directed that all available resources be utilized to provide safe, comfortable, and quality travel facilities to citizens travelling on the national highways and motorways.
He further instructed the officers to strengthen the effective enforcement of traffic laws on the national highways and motorways through effective strategies, professional expertise, and the optimum use of modern technology. During the meeting, the IG Motorway Police emphasized that all officers should treat passengers with courtesy and good conduct and extend every possible assistance to them, as helping and serving the public is a distinctive hallmark of the Motorway Police.
He stated that courteous behaviour and public service are the identity of the Motorway Police; therefore, any kind of inappropriate behaviour towards passengers will not be tolerated under any circumstances. In conclusion, Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry reaffirmed that the protection of the lives and property of citizens travelling on the national highways and motorways, the provision of a safe travelling e nvironment, and public service remain among the foremost priorities of the National Highways & Motorway Police.
He added that all available resources will continue to be utilized to achieve these objectives.
