Sedition case against Shahbaz Gill
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while announcing the decision of sedition case against PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has rejected the petition against appointment of special prosecutor. The court declared the appointment of special prosecutor Raja Rizwan Abbasi as per law. Chief Justice of IHC Amir Farooq had reserved judgment on petition against the appointment of special prosecutor on completion of arguments. PTI leader Shahbaz Gill had challenged appointment of special prosecutor in connection with trial in high court. The court has said in its written order that interior ministry appointed Raja Rizwan Abbasi as special prosecutor on the request of chief commissioner. As per section 492 of criminal procedure code , special prosecutor can be appointed. The counsel for special prosecutor said the accused has right to higher services of counsel according to his will but he has no right to select prosecutor of his own choice. Online
