Modern MRI system installed in PIC

The provincial minister for health and finance Taimur Saleem Jhagra on Thursday said that holistic health care has been a priority in the province and pragmatic steps have been taken to equip public sector hospitals with cutting-edge technologies, especially for patients suffering from heart diseases.
Taimur Saleem Jhagra said this after inaugurating installation of a modern Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine at Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
He said that PIC is among the ten best hospitals of the country due to its efficient services for patients suffering from heart related diseases.
Speaking on the occasion, Taimur Saleem Jhagra said that the MRI machine installed in the hospital was one of the most modern models installed in Pakistan so far.
The Health Minister said that the installation of MRI machines will provide the patients with the best facilities for treatment.
“PIC provided health facilities to more than one lakh patients suffering from heart diseases within two years,” he added and said that the institute’s services were acknowledged across the world.
Dr Nadia Khattak, head of PI Radiology also spoke on the occasion and added that now treatment facilities for patients suffering from heart diseases would be modernized.
According to the hospital administration, MRI facilities are not only for patients in the hospital but also for all and all types of patients in the province.
