Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Transport and Mass Transit Samiullah Khan has directed government departments to ensure the timely completion of development schemes in Peshawar, warning that negligence or delays in resolving public issues will not be tolerated.
He issued the directives while attending a District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) review meeting chaired by DDAC Chairman and MPA Sher Ali Afridi in Peshawar on Wednesday.
The meeting was also attended by MPA Syed Qasim Ali Shah and officials from the health, education, public health engineering, local government, transport, irrigation, agriculture, water management, social welfare and other relevant departments.
Participants reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects, public welfare initiatives and the overall performance of various government departments in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Samiullah said all development projects should be completed within the stipulated timeframe and stressed that public servants must discharge their duties with transparency, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
He warned that strict legal and departmental action would be taken against officials found negligent in the performance of their duties.
During the meeting, public representatives directed the health department to immediately launch an effective anti-dengue spray campaign across Peshawar, while the education department was instructed to ensure the timely completion of ongoing development schemes and educational projects.
The adviser said the provincial government remained committed to providing quality public services at people’s doorstep, promoting transparent governance and accelerating development, adding that all government departments should fulfil their responsibilities efficiently.
