The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), in a joint operation with Punjab Police, successfully recovered a trader who had been kidnapped from Faisalabad. The victim was safely rescued near Balkassar Interchange on Motorway (M-2) through a professionally executed operation.
According to details, Punjab Police informed Motorway Police that armed suspects had snatched a Toyota Cross bearing registration number ATW-113 at gunpoint and abducted a trader, Mr. Tariq Aziz s/o Abdul Aziz, resident of Faisalabad.
The suspects reportedly fled towards Motorway in another vehicle (Prius). Upon receiving the information, Motorway Police immediately alerted all field formations. Shortly thereafter, Motorway Police officers spotted the suspected vehicle near Chakri on Motorway (M-2). The officers signaled the vehicle to stop; however, the suspects attempted to flee.
The next patrolling vehicle was promptly informed and initiated a chase. Demonstrating professional expertise and swift action, the officers successfully intercepted the vehicle near Balkassar Interchange and safely recovered the abducted individual.
The suspects, however, managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Motorway Police took both vehicles into custody. During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the abductors belong to an inter-provincial criminal gang involved in similar offenses.
The recovered individual and both vehicles were handed over to SHO Police Station Millat Town, Faisalabad, for further legal proceedings. The timely response, professional competence, and dedication of Motorway Police officers made the safe recovery of the abducted trader and the snatched vehicles possible.
The victim expressed profound gratitude and appreciation for the honesty, professionalism, and prompt action of the National Highways and Motorway Police. He stated that five unidentified individuals had impersonated officials of a sensitive agency and forcibly taken him from the Grain Market (Ghalla Mandi), Faisalabad.
The Inspector General, Motorway Police, and the Additional Inspector General (North Region) commended the officers involved in the successful operation and appreciated their swift and effective response.
