KP excise seizes 2.95kg ice in DI Khan, one held

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department arrested a suspected drug dealer and a woman accomplice and seized 2,955 grammes of ice during an operation in Dera Ismail Khan, officials said on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Excise Police Station Dera Ismail Khan conducted a raid on Dera-Tank Road and arrested Abdul Qayum, son of Abdul Laiq, along with his alleged accomplice. The department said 2,955 grammes of ice were recovered from the suspects’ possession. A case has been registered against the arrested suspects at the Excise Police Station, while further investigation and legal proceedings are under way. The operation was conducted as part of a province-wide crackdown on drug dealers and suppliers, particularly those involved in the illegal trade of ice, on the directives of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan and Excise Secretary Khalid Ilyas.
