KP irrigation minister inaugurates various projects in Swat

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Aaqibullah Khan has inaugurated two significant projects in Swat
According to an official handout, the first project is the restoration and repair of the Aziz Khel, Janki Khel, and Matoorzi irrigation scheme in Fatehpur, Swat. The scheme was completed at a cost of approximately Rs. 123.38 million. The irrigation scheme will benefit a large agricultural area, including Ziarat Nawikale, Nala Qala, Ghar Sar Sheen, Farhatabad, Sala, and Chaliar. The scheme will increase crop production and improve the economic conditions of farmers.
The second project is the clearance of flood debris from the Swat River and Daral Khwar streams at Bahrain. The project was completed at a cost of Rs. 157.5 million. The project aims to mitigate flood risks and address long-standing issues faced by the local population.
The Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Aaqibullah Khan, emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing the agricultural sector and ensuring water accessibility to every farmer. He stated that the irrigation department would work to implement similar schemes in other districts of the province to achieve sustainable agricultural development. The inauguration ceremonies were attended by members of the Provincial Assembly, senior officials, and local dignitaries. The events highlighted the government’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector and improve the lives of farmers and residents in the region.
