KP Irrigation Minister reviews progress on ADP schemes

An important meeting held here on Thursday with the Irrigation Minister Arshad Ayub Khan in the chair, reviewed six months progress of the Irrigation department Annual Development Program (ADP) schemes for the North and South Zones under the financial year 2022-23.
Secretary Irrigation Mohammad Ayaz, Additional Secretary Nasir Ali, Chief Engineer South Nasir Ghafoor Khan, Chief Engineer North Allam Ishaq Khan and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The forum was briefed regarding the progress so far made on ongoing ADP 2022-23 projects.
The meeting was informed that work on more than 68 projects is underway in the South Zone and 80 projects in the North Zone.
Provincial Irrigation Minister Arshad Dayub Khan directed officials concerned to ensure transparency in the ongoing projects of the irrigation department and regular review meetings should be held.
He said that according to the manifesto of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the provincial government has taken record measures to implement public welfare projects.
Many projects have been started for the improvement of the irrigation system, which will facilitate irrigating thousands of acres of land, he added and said that the funds allocated for the projects in the ADP for the year 2022-23 should be utilized in the stipulated time.
Arshad Ayub maintained that the PTI provincial government has taken historic steps for the development of agriculture in the country.
