KP minister emphasizes inclusion on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development Syed Qasim Ali Shah highlighted the collective responsibility to support persons with disabilities, calling it a “great humanitarian service.”
Speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony held at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the minister stressed the importance of empowering special individuals and ensuring their inclusion in all aspects of society.
Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah praised the efforts of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, stating that his administration is committed to public welfare and humanitarian causes.
The Social Welfare Department, under the Chief Minister’s guidance, is working diligently to provide facilities that meet the aspirations of the people, including individuals with disabilities.
“If an individual has a physical deficiency, it is compensated by Allah Almighty with other strengths. The remarkable achievements of special individuals are proof of this, and Pakistan takes pride in their contributions,” he remarked.
The minister also emphasized ongoing efforts to uplift women through modern training programs and legislative measures. He highlighted that steps are being taken to ensure women receive their inheritance rights and other legal entitlements, making it clear that no one will be allowed to deny women these rights.
The event featured performances by individuals with disabilities, including local and national songs, which were warmly received by the audience.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of shields, souvenirs, and certificates to individuals with disabilities in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
