The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Service (Rescue 1122) on Friday issued its annual performance report for 2025 during a review meeting held at the Provincial Headquarters, a handout said.
Briefing the meeting, Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmad Faizi stated that the service responded to more than 271,000 emergencies during the year, providing timely and professional assistance.
“These emergencies included over 169,000 medical cases, 25,000 road traffic accidents, 5,691 fire incidents, 780 drowning cases, 4,439 crime-related emergencies, 194 building and roof collapses, 10 mine blasts, 93 gas and cylinder explosions, and 6,924 other incidents,” the report said.
According to the report, Rescue 1122 provided emergency medical assistance to more than 289,000 injured persons and patients, transporting them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
In addition, 58,800 critically injured or seriously ill patients were shifted within districts and to major hospitals through the Health Ambulance Referral Service for specialised medical care. The incidents reported during the year resulted in 6,185 fatalities.
The spokesperson emphasized that Rescue 1122 ensured equal emergency services in urban areas, merged districts, and former FATA regions.
Temporary rescue points were also established at key tourist destinations to facilitate both local residents and visitors.
Bilal Ahmad Faizi reaffirmed the department’s commitment to further strengthening its emergency response capacity through continuous training, improved equipment, and enhanced coordination, aiming to provide efficient and effective services to the people of KP.
