Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Member Provincial Assembly Inayatullah Khan and Haji Sirajuddin Khan on Monday submitted a call attention notice in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly against unscheduled loadshedding in Upper and Lower Chitral districts.
They said that Upper and Lower Chitral are the largest districts of KPin terms of area. However, the government infrastructure and facilities are very inadequate for people and they also suffer from 12 to 16 hours long load shedding in hot seasons due to squabbling between government agencies PESCO and PEDO .
It has been reported that after the completion of Golan Gol project in 2018, the government cut off power supply to Upper Chitral due to strong protests from the people, they added.
Mr Inayatullah Khan added that PESCO’s balance due to PEDO has increased to 110 million units as PEDO’s unit is cheaper and PESCO’s unit is more expensive.
This is a very important and public issue so the government should take immediate notice of this very important issue and immediately alleviate the severe problems and sufferings faced by the people of both the districts of Chitral, both lawmakers demanded.
