Petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking disqualification of interior minister Mohsin Naqvi from Senate seat. Citizen Mashkoor Hussain has filed the petition through Nadim Sarwar advocate making federal government, PCB and Mohsin Naqvi respondents. The petitioner took the plea Mohsin Naqvi is not eligible to become Senator while retaining the office of chairman PCB. Mohsin Naqvi was chairman PCB when he filed nomination papers for the seat of Senate. Under article 63 of the constitution Mohsin Naqvi cannot retain Senate seat.
The petitioner has requested LHC to order for disqualifying Mohsin Naqvi from the seat of senator.
