LANDIKOTAL: Two children killed while three others of the same family injured after lightning struck a house in the remote Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Landikotal tehsil of Khyber district on Wednesday, sources said. According to locals, the lightning struck the house of Zalib Gul in Shankhel area of Bazaar Zakhakhel, causing severe damage and leaving two dead and at least three others critically injured. As the incident happened, residents nearby rushed to the site and started rescue work. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, where one of them was reported to be in critical condition. The incident left the area in mourning, with residents expressing condolences to the bereaved family. Local authorities and relief teams have started assessing the situation. Assistant commissioner Landikotal Inamullah Khan Wazir directed the staff to visit the affected family and provide best possible medical treatment to those injured in the lighting incident.
