Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir has directed all the relevant departments to tighten surveillance at joint check posts and intensify efforts to curb the smuggling of food items, commercial goods and the movement of unregistered vehicles across the district.
The directives were issued while chairing a high-level meeting attended by the District Police Officer, officials of the district administration and representatives from the Food, Excise, Agriculture and other relevant departments.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing anti-smuggling measures and agreed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, intelligence sharing and joint enforcement operations to improve the effectiveness of the crackdown.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to ensure a consistent presence at joint check posts and maintain strict monitoring of food supplies, commercial goods and unregistered vehicles at border and entry points to prevent illegal movement and enforce the law.
Nawaz said all concerned departments must work in close coordination to accelerate enforcement actions, discourage illegal trade and safeguard the public interest through effective implementation of anti-smuggling measures.
