TAKHTE BHAI
Local government representatives from tehsil Takhte Bhai, after an emergency meeting, voiced their frustration over the provincial government’s failure to deliver on promised funds and resources. Speaking to the media, elected officials, including union council chairpersons and other representatives, expressed disappointment that three years after the local elections, they still lack the authority, funds, and even salaries.
The representatives recalled that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had passed the Local Government Act with the commitment to empower local bodies, yet those promises remain unfulfilled.
They warned that if the government continues to ignore their demands, they will halt all operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and initiate protests, even threatening to resign collectively.
Union council leaders, including VC Parkho Haji Iqbal, Qaiser Tanoli, Mufti Murad, and Hanif Nazim, emphasized that if their demands are not met soon, they will stage a protest outside Adiala Jail.
They underscored that the responsibility for any disruption will rest with those obstructing the local government system.
