The Video Journalists Forum has congratulated Peshawar Press Club (PPC) President M. Riaz on receiving the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, a civil award conferred by the government of Pakistan, describing the honour as a recognition of the services of the entire journalist community.
During a general body meeting of the Peshawar Press Club, Video Journalists Forum President Bilal Ahmad presented a commemorative souvenir to Mr Riaz in recognition of his longstanding services to journalism.
Mr Ahmad also moved a resolution appreciating Mr Riaz’s contribution to the profession. The resolution was unanimously adopted by the general body of the PPC.
The resolution said Mr Riaz’s nomination for the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz was an acknowledgement of his four decades of journalistic services, professional commitment and contributions to the field of journalism.
It also appreciated his role in promoting the welfare and interests of working journalists through the platform of the club.
The forum described the national honour as a collective recognition for the journalist community and congratulated Mr Riaz on the achievement.
The members expressed their best wishes for his continued success and further contributions to journalism.
