An important meeting of the management committee held here on Monday with Chief Executive Gajju Khan Medical College Swabi in the chair, decided to reopen classes in the college after the ongoing protests by certain faculty members.
The forum in its collective decision reached to resume college classes from today (Tuesday).
The forum also decided that appropriate action would be taken against those individuals who refused to fulfill their teaching responsibilities.
In attendance at the meeting were various key members of the Management Committee, including the Hospital Director, Medical Director, Associate Dean, and other committee members.
The participants expressed deep concern regarding the protests initiated by a few faculty members. They emphasized that no one should be exempt from adhering to the rules and regulations, and stern measures would be implemented against those who exploit students for their personal interests.
The chairperson refuted all the allegations raised by the protesters.
The management strongly condemns the act of threatening certain faculty members and emphasizes that such behavior will not be tolerated.
They assert that engaging in such activities will result in strict action being taken against the protesters.
Earlier, a press conference was conducted within the college premises, which was deemed inappropriate as it violated the college’s policy.
During the press conference, a small group of faculty members attempted to exert pressure on the Management and convey their demands to the media.
The chairperson expressed concern over this unauthorized press conference, emphasizing that such events require approval from the management and the Media & Communication department.
The management acknowledges that the door for discussion and negotiation remains open and urges the protesting faculty to consider the importance of the student’s time.
