To create consciousness regarding Dengue disease, awareness sessions were organized with different sections of the society here in Landi Kotal.
Under the banner of Malaria department, Landi Kotal,Malaria focal person Shah Muhammad Afridi along with his teammates conducted various seminars in schools,madaress and sensitized the teachers community, religious scholars and other portions of the society pertaining Dengue.
The purpose of the sessions was to educate the tribesmen prior of the breaking of the disease and to collectively make effective initiatives to curtain spread it, he added and said stressed upon the people to strictly follow precautionary measures and symptoms of the Dengue so that it could be treated on time.
Shedding light on causes, symptoms and cure of Dengue Afridi said that the disease that causes biting of special mosquito can be curtain by use of net while going to sleep, covering pots of fresh water to halt breeding of the mosquito larva and wearing of full sleeves dress.
He urged the masses that in case of getting the disease with symptoms like flu, fever, pain in body etc. immediately contact to the nearest doctor because it may be Dengue disease.
The participants assured for adoption of protective measures however he asked the administration and the health department to forthwith carry out fog spray in the area, provide anti-mosquito nets to the tribal and initiate free of cost laboratory tests for the locals.
