Meeting reviews recruitment process in public sector universities

An important meeting held here on Tuesday with provincial minister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi in the chair, reviewed the recruitment of staff at various public sector universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement issued here, the meeting was attended by vice-chancellors of several universities including University of Gomal, University of Malakand, and Kohat.
The forum discussed in detail the provincial government process and permits required for hiring employees in government-run universities.
Minister Afridi emphasized that universities with existing permits from the provincial department of higher education and finance should proceed with their recruitment processes without delay.
On the other hand, universities without such permits were urged to expedite the process of obtaining the necessary approvals.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Afridi explained that the purpose of the recruitment permits was to ensure proper administrative and financial oversight for universities.
The Minister for higher education assured the participants that the provincial government is committed to providing all necessary support to strengthen the higher education sector.
“Empowering universities is central to our mission, as we aim to enhance the effectiveness and capacity of the higher education sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Afridi stated.
The meeting underscored the government’s resolve to make higher education in the province more robust and efficient, with a particular focus on supporting universities in their administrative functions.
