PESHAWAR
Caretaker Chief Minister adviser on mineral development and planning and development Dr Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah has said that mineral resources play a significant contribution to national economic development.
He said Chitral has been bestowed with rich mineral resources and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is taking pragmatic initiatives to utilize these minerals in a sustainable way for the development of the province.
Mr Sarfaraz expressed these views here on Friday while addressing an open court at Chitral, said a statement.
“Many types of valuable minerals are found in Chitral and the department concerned would utilize these rich resources for the provincial development and prosperity,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chitral, District Police Officer (DPO) AC Chitral, minerals department officials, representatives of Chitral Mines and Mineral Associations, local elders and a large number of people also attended the open court.
On this occasion, CM Aide Dr Syed Sarfraz Ali Shah was informed about the problems, reservations and suggestions faced by various union presidents, lease owners and local elders related to minerals.
He directed the officials and the district administration to resolve some outstanding issues on the spot, while he assured to talk to the higher authorities about the solutions and suggestions of some issues and to bring the details to the notice of the Chief Minister of KP.
The local leader and people associated with the mineral profession lauded the provincial government for taking their issues seriously and steps for their resolution.
