Lack of engineering and water management branches of the agriculture department in the tribal districts have caused severe hardships to the local farmers and landlords.
The framer community demanded from the relevant branches including proper irrigation system and agriculture department should be extended to the tribal districts. For further improvement of agriculture, land leveling and purchase of agricultural seeds should be done at the behest of Farm Services Center, agronomists, and local landlords instead of the contract system.
According to details, the offices of Agriculture Engineering on Farm Water Management for the tribal districts is still in Peshawar. Due to which the local landlords are facing severe difficulties. Under these branches, the agriculture department provides land leveling and irrigation facilities to the landlords. The landlords have demanded from the responsible officers of the concerned department on the unavailability of the said branches in the tribal districts. That for the betterment of agriculture, the Department of Agriculture should set up engineering and water management branches in the tribal districts. So that the landlords have easy access to it in time. Local landlords flatly rejected the supply of substandard seeds through the contract system under the provincial government.
The farmer’s community demanded that landlords should be provided on the basis of agronomists and local landlords instead of the contract system. In order to improve production, local landowners strongly demanded that the area’s agriculture face difficulties and shortages in land leaching and irrigation.
