National Electric Power Regulatory Authority on Wednesday raised power tariff by Rs1.66 per unit. Consumers will pay an additional Rs20 billion in the next month. The Central Power Purchase Agency Guarantee Limited had sought Rs2.97 per unit increase in power tariff for the month of September under monthly fuel adjustment formula. CPPA elaborated that out of the total power generation in the September, 37.09pc was generated from hydel sources, 16.39pc from coal, 6pc from residual fuel oil, 5.50pc nuclear source, 1.10pc wind source, 0.45pc solar source.
