PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Zakat, Ushr, Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment has directed the department to provide comprehensive district-wise data on Ushr and Zakat collection across the province. The committee, chaired by Zubair Khan, met at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat and reviewed the existing mechanism, challenges, and practical measures for Ushr collection. Members suggested ways to ensure transparency and improvement in Ushr collection and distribution. The department explained that 100 posts were initially approved for Ushr implementation but were later abolished, leading to its transfer back to the Revenue Department. Ushr is levied at one-tenth of land produce, with voluntary payment by landowners and farmers. The committee also reviewed progress on providing vehicles to the Special Education Hayatabad Complex and directed the department to present a detailed report in the next meeting . DLP Report
