PAC to meet on Monday to discuss Panama leaks

ISLAMABAD : Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will meet on Monday morning to discuss Panama leaks saga that is now posing serious threats to Sharif’s dynasty in Pakistan.
Opposition leader Syed Khurshid Shah led public accounts committee will also grill the heads of FBR, SECP and NAB today for not accelerating the pace of investigation into PANAMA revelations that has created storm on the country’s political horizon.
Public accounts committee extraordinary meeting has been convened on the demand of PTI member Arif Alvi who had submitted his letter to PAC secretariat pleading the heads of an inquiry departments of Pakistan should be summoned to seek their inputs regarding off shore companies.
In his letter he had stated that according to media reports that corrupt mafia had plundered the national exchequer and deposited it in their off shore companies and it is now the right of the people to know how much their wealth had been stashed away there.
Chairman PAC syed Khurshid Shah has directed chairmen NAB and FBR to brief the parliamentary committee about the scope of investigation the law which empowered them to probe off shore accounts
.According to PANAMA leaks more than 600 Pakistani has set up their offshore companies in foreign countries where they had concealed their ill gotten wealth in these companies for tax evading.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Nisar Ahmen Khan who had already under scathing criticism from PTI has issued notices to 600 Pakistani whose off shore companies have come to surface.
PAC secretariat has confirmed Online today that summons have been issued to chairmen NAB, FBR and SECP for appearing before in the meeting and have been directed to answer the questioned raised by parliamentarians.
PTI chairman Imran Khan has also launched agitation movement against Nawaz Sharif led federal government and alleged that prime Minister is using delaying tactic to secure his own skin from PANAMA papers investigation and allegedly not constituting investigation commission under honest judges of the supreme court.
Names of Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz’s off shore companies are also included in panama leaks and owing to these off shore companies the government of Nawaz Sharif is beset by perils amid political storms which is intensifying by each passing days.
