Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan is desirous to exit grey list of FATF.
“Afghanistan is our neighboring country. We did the job of facilitating peace process in Doha. We have no favorite in Afghanistan. We have learnt this lesson since decades. Pakistan is eager to exit FATF grey list. Whoever will enjoy support of Afghan people will form the government”, he said this while addressing a joint press conference with United Kingdom’s (UK) Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab here at the Foreign Office Friday.
UK Foreign secretary said conquest of Afghanistan was very fast. Pakistan and India should hold positive and constructive talks on Kashmir.
United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab arrived at the Foreign Office on Friday to hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the “evolving situation in Afghanistan”.
Raab had arrived in Islamabad last night and for a two-day trip to Islamabad from September 2-3.
FM Qureshi said I am feeling happy in telling that we have set up a new platform under ESD
We will further improve the bilateral ties through this platform, he added. Soon first meeting of ESD will take place in Islamabad.
He went on to say we want partnership in Afghanistan soon for peace. There is close convergence of views among the two countries on prospective steps in Afghanistan.
Pakistan wants to exit grey list of FATF. I have requested UK foreign secretary for their support on this matter, he remarked.
He went on to say Pakistan has implemented maximum points of FATF. An important meeting will be held on Monday with reference to FATF.
The major part of Afghan trade is from Pakistan border. How can we close the borders in this situation and raise a tragedy. We will engage with such a government which enjoys support of Afghan people , he observed.
Whosoever talks of peace among the Taliban we can talk to him.
He remarked we have raised Kashmir issue with UK Foreign secretary. We have talked on Kashmir issue. I arrested his attention towards the incident of snatching of Ali Gillani dead body saying could his body be not buried in honorable way. You cannot suppress human sentiments. We have clear stance on Kashmir issue. India cannot stop us from highlighting human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
