PBC employees and pensioners stand deprived of salaries


2700 regular, 870 daily wages employees and 5000 pensioners of PBC deprived of their salaries for the past two months

Due to non release of funds from federal government, daily wages employees, contract employees and pensioners of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) also known as Radio Pakistan stand deprived of their salaries and pension for the past two months.
According to media reports, currently there are 2700 regular and 870 daily wages and contract employees are working in different departments of PBC and the strength of pensioners stand around 5000.
30 radio stations, 32 high power centers and 14 FM stations are operating under PBC across the country. According to law on time payment of wages to these regular, contract employees and pension to pensioners is necessary to run the institution effectively but despite passage of two months, these employees have not been disbursed salaries and pension. A senior official of radio Pakistan said that if radio Pakistan is connected with some department like PTV then it can be steered out of loss.
