PESHAWAR: The District Administration of Peshawar has launched an intensive campaign against illegal signboards and billboards across the city, resulting in the removal of 58 unauthorized structures over the past three days. The operation was being carried out in line with directives from the provincial government, said a handout. Joint teams from the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), Capital Metropolitan Government, and the concerned Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs), under the supervision of the District Administration, have been working in shifts, day and night, to dismantle illegal signage using heavy machinery. DC Peshawar, Sarmad Saleem Akram has directed officials to carry out the operation without yielding to any pressure or external recommendations and to ensure the campaign continues uninterrupted until all illegal boards are removed from the city. “These unauthorized signboards pose a serious risk during storms, heavy winds, and rain. They endanger both lives and property,” said DC Akram. “Protecting the lives of citizens remains our top priority, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.” DLP Report
