Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a protest on February 8 to condemn the enactment of the PECA Act, the 26th Amendment, and other alleged unconstitutional measures.
He asserted that these laws have been introduced to legitimize the “theft” of the people’s mandate and undermine democratic principles.
The spokesperson of the provincial government accused the PML-N government of causing irreparable damage to the country, with the economy on the brink of collapse.
Saif stated that February 8, 2024, marked a severe blow to democracy and widespread electoral rigging leading to the formation of an illegitimate government.
He claimed that the use of Form 47 facilitated this political manipulation, resulting in instability across the country.
Calling for public support, Saif invited journalists, intellectuals, and citizens from all walks of life to join the protest.
He warned that the PECA Act and the 26th Amendment would ultimately backfire on the current rulers.
“February 8 symbolizes a commitment to liberate the country from those who stole the people’s mandate,” he declared.
The Advisor strongly criticized the federal government, alleging that it has inflicted irreparable damage on the economy, which he described as nearing collapse.
He accused the ruling authorities of prioritizing power retention over governance, fostering lawlessness, and using black laws to shield their administration.
