Provincial Chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Sikander Hayat Khan Sherpao has emphasized the urgent need to address the challenges faced by Pakhtuns and to establish lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that prolonged uncertainty has led to widespread despair in the province.
Sherpao made these remarks during a ceremony in Charsadda District, held in preparation for the anniversary of the martyred Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao. Paying tribute to the late leader, he highlighted the importance of Hayat Shaheed’s legacy, stating that his spirit and commitment are essential for tackling today’s critical challenges and safeguarding the rights of Pakhtuns.
He vowed to follow in the footsteps of Hayat Shaheed, pledging unwavering dedication to the rights, welfare, and protection of the Pakhtun community. Sherpao stressed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has endured a difficult period for decades, adversely affecting its people and increasing regional underdevelopment.
Addressing the socio-economic challenges, Sherpao criticized the federal and provincial governments for neglecting the issues faced by smaller provinces, particularly the Pakhtuns, resulting in growing frustration among the populace. He firmly stated that there would be no compromise on the rights and protection of Pakhtun farmers, and action would be taken to alleviate their hardships.
Sherpao also condemned the recent terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan, expressing his condolences to the families of the five officials who lost their lives in the incident.
