LAHORE
Pakistan Milli Labour Federation (PMLF) will celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day across the country with national spirit, enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to the country’s progress. Various programs, rallies and seminars will be organized in different cities under the federation’s banner, while the main ceremony will be held in Lahore on August 14.
A large number of workers, employees of government and semi-government institutions, and representatives of other labour organizations are expected to attend the central ceremony.
PMLF President Rana Shamshad said independence is a precious national achievement that can only be safeguarded through unity, social justice and respect for the Constitution and rule of law.
He said the working class is a key pillar of Pakistan’s economy. Workers in industry, agriculture, construction, transport and other sectors make a significant contribution to national development.
Rana Shamshad said a strong and prosperous Pakistan requires fair wages, safe working conditions, social security and protection of workers’ fundamental rights.
He said Independence Day provides an opportunity to renew the national commitment to building a stable, prosperous and socially just Pakistan.
The PMLF president reaffirmed that the federation would continue its peaceful and democratic struggle for the legitimate rights, dignity and welfare of workers.
He stressed that workers are an essential part of the country’s development and that their welfare must remain a priority in national policymaking.
Rana Shamshad urged workers across the country to participate actively in Independence Day programs and renew their commitment to Pakistan’s unity, stability, prosperity and social justice.
